Starting in 2022, we'll be introducing a new Christmas Ornament with a Matthews theme. Only a limited number will be produced. After the annual Chamber Holiday Stroll, the extras will be available to purchase. Please contact the chamber office for information on purchasing an ornament.
2024 Christmas Ornament
The Reid House
Built in the late nineteenth century by Edward Soloman Reid, the Reid House graces the center of the Matthews business district. Shadowed by a huge magnolia tree, the architectural design is characteristic of the Town’s uniqueness.
The Reid House, located at 134 West John Street, is owned and operated by the Matthews Historical Foundation. It continues to be a landmark with historic significance to the development and values of the Town of Matthews.
