Position Description:
The Events and Marketing Coordinator is responsible for the management and coordinating of all events in the Matthews Chamber. Additionally, this position is responsible for the development and implementation of the marketing and public relations materials and the maintenance of the website for the Chamber. This position develops relationships with businesses, individuals and organizations interested in supporting the Matthews Chamber of Commerce events and activities. This position will work in coordination on other projects as assigned by the Executive Director and/or Board of Director.

Position Description:
The Matthews Chamber of Commerce is a vibrant, growing community of member businesses and non-profit organizations from across the greater Matthews region and beyond. With a packed schedule of networking opportunities, events, and educational opportunities, the Executive Director spearheads the Chamber’s effort to serve as a constant support and resource for business and non-profit organizations of all types and sizes. The Executive Director role requires a uniquely-qualified professional who is as comfortable being the ‘face’ of the organization as they are completing financial analysis and strategic planning efforts to ensure the Chamber continues to be successful for years to come. Self-motivation and poise are a must, as are an ability to organize, plan, lead and manage at both a macro and micro levels. The Executive Director must also possess strong critical thinking and analytical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to demonstrate the value of the Matthews Chamber to current and potential members and sponsors, have good listening skills and be open to receiving constructive feedback, as well as have a passion for member engagement, networking and collaboration.
